Our story

Aldebaran was born from the testimony of a general practitioner, shared with Vincent, about his growing difficulty in practicing within a healthcare system under severe strain.

Faced with more than a hundred healthcare professionals encountered, this finding is almost unanimous: despite online appointment booking and teleconsultation, the continuous increase in care needs combined with the shortage of professionals leads to a structural degradation of the healthcare system, exhaustion of caregivers, and loss of quality in patient care.

The ambition of Aldebaran is clear: to give useful medical time back to caregivers and sustainably improve the quality of care, by leveraging advanced technologies in the service of clinical practice.

Aldebaran was founded in late 2021 by Vincent Jacquelinet, Dr. Christian Jacquelinet, and Nate Lowe, around a common belief: AI can become a true lever of efficiency and serenity for healthcare professionals, provided it is designed in depth, closely connected to the medical field.

From its inception, the project adopts a rigorous approach at the interface between medicine, data science, and software engineering, with a strong emphasis on clinical value, safety, and real usefulness for caregivers.

First steps

Aldebaran is quickly recognized for its technological and medical positioning, obtaining the Deep Tech label from Bpifrance and being distinguished at the e-health Talents competition, co-organized by the Ministerial Delegation for Digital Health and the Agency for Digital Health, alongside key players in the sector. The team then joins the Eurasanté incubator to structure the project and confront its initial directions with the realities on the ground.

In 2023, after validating the clinical and operational relevance of a first version of the medical assistant, the founders commit full-time. Supported by the HEC incubator at Station F, Aldebaran successfully completes its first fundraising of €1.6 million in May 2023, bringing together doctors, experienced Business Angels, Bpifrance, and banking partners.

This funding marks a turning point: it allows for strengthening the team, accelerating product development, and laying the groundwork for a larger-scale deployment within care structures.

Our vision

In a context of growing scarcity of health resources, Aldebaran works to restore to medicine all its value and nobility, by allowing caregivers to refocus on the essentials: medical time, clinical decision-making, and the human relationship.

We are convinced that the medicine of tomorrow will be neither automated nor dehumanized, but augmented. A medicine where the doctor remains fully in charge, where the patient is better understood, better prepared, and better supported, both before and after the consultation, and where AI acts as a reliable, explainable, and secure cognitive support infrastructure.

Our ambition is to reduce the cognitive load on caregivers, to improve the quality and continuity of care, and to restore useful medical time, in service of a more effective, fairer, calmer, and profoundly human medicine.
